Keyboard shortcut recommendation

It's a fairly established convention in modern productivity and developer tools, including VS Code, Linear, and Notion. Other options: Shortcut Assessment ⌘ / Ctrl + B Best choice. Familiar sidebar-toggle convention. ⌘ / Ctrl + \ Good alternative, used for sidebar toggling in some apps. [ Convenient single-key shortcut, but potentially conflicts with typing. Esc Ideal for dismissing a temporary navigation drawer, not a persistent sidebar. My recommendation: Use ⌘B / Ctrl+B for a persistent, collapsible navigation sidebar. Make it a toggle, not just a close action, so users can reopen it with the same shortcut. One caveat: browsers may already use ⌘B / Ctrl+B for bookmarks, so you'll need to handle that conflict when your app has focus. 1
