There are two kinds of politics: petty, and grand. Petty politics are the politics of habitual obedience, sincere cooperation, and regular procedure. Grand politics are the politics of the unlimited exception. Anything can happen. Everything can change. Almost everyone has some area of governance that they’re closely interested in.
