Why smart people don't always win
Certain people move through life at lightning speed in the direction of the stratosphere. They make more progress in a year than most do in their life. And when they do end up taking a wrong turn they course-correct and go back to winning without skipping a beat. This gives them access to most of the spoils that help us thrive: resources, recognition, connections, etc. As a culture, we tend to assume such people are smarter or more “brilliant” than others – and I’m not going to pretend there is no correlation.
