This creates several files including a new flake.nix which defines a minnowsFlows output with an example flow as a default. The flake also defines a test system that we’ll use for testing our flow. The flake.nix looks like this: Multiple systems available The default flow is imported from flow.nix which contains our flow definition. A flow definition is a function accepting a flow argument. Conventionally, the function calls flow.new and returns the result. The flow.new function accepts an attribute set including metadata in about, any options the flow exposes in interface, as well as the behavior of the flow in implementation. This example flow.nix contains a complete flow which runs the hello program as a systemd oneshot service with a user configurable greeting: To better understand what the attributes present in about and interface mean, let’s review the documentation to get an idea of how this flow fits into a Minnows System.
