Business needs intelligence more than people
If you had asked me 3 years ago who the winner would be in the AI race, I would have bet on OpenAI. Back then, there was a lot of talk about their “moat” - the lead they had over other AI labs in model quality. ChatGPT was actually useful for some things, while other offerings included an AI that invented fake citations, and one whose demo erased a whole Starbuck’s from Alphabet’s stock price. Really, it was a Google vs OpenAI race, and even then Google was “in the race” in the same way I’m in the race for marrying Anya Taylor-Joy (far behind but showing a lot of heart). In 2023, I don’t…
