In 2023, I read everything that Robert Caro has written. 4,961 pages and 2.6 million words of historical biographies, about two relatively niche figures, Robert Moses and Lyndon B Johnson. I read them for fun, on toilets and on trains, while working intensely on a startup. I say this (mostly) not to flex, but to illustrate how exceptional of a writer Caro must be to get me so engaged.
