The course strengthens national and sub-national decision-makers’ ability to apply systems thinking and strategic foresight. Introductory Part I, “Foundations of Anticipatory Governance” introduces key concepts and tools, illustrates their use through practical examples, and explores how systems thinking and strategic foresight support anticipatory governance, strategic planning, and sound policymaking. Advanced Part II, “Implementation of Systems Thinking and Strategic Foresight” focuses on embedding the methods through partnerships and applying them in monitoring, evaluation, and implementation.
