A few weeks ago, Sabrina Carpenter announced her second album, Man’s Best Friend, by posting the image pasted above (which is the album’s cover) and people, to put it academically, lost their shit about it. The cover was instantly controversial, with most of the discussion being about whether it was glorifying the sexual exploitation of women, whether she was cleverly deconstructing misogynistic imagery (which is my read, but we have to listen to the album to know), or whether people who don’t like it are stuck up puritans who need to “catch a dick”.
