Closeted homosexuality is an ideology, or sexuality, which distinguishes itself both from modern gay and modern trad for a “secret third thing.” I equivocate between sexuality and ideology on the basis of refinement and extreme radicalism. The adjective “closeted” implies a conscious, active decision to control and direct one’s own sexuality. This is in opposition with the passive attitude of “born this way.” Modern gay believes he was "born this way"; sexuality for the modern gay is something like a “preference,” a soft and squishy passivity.
