Illustration, MSX Magazine (1990) I recently heard a podcast host introduce their guest as an 'originalist'. Stopped the podcast right there. Seriously, what does that even mean? Is anyone truly original--do people like that exist on this planet? I'm certain that you have to be pulling influences from something. The foundations of your work have to be lying unearthed, spilled across the floor somewhere. If there's such thing as an originalist, I have yet to come across one in my life.
