Blade Runner 2049, directed by Denis Villeneuve I’ll admit the first time I watched Blade Runner 2049, I found it a snoozer. It is a long, sparse film, with characters meant to hold the viewer at an emotional distance. There are often stretches of near-silence, occasionally punctuated by waves of synth.
