OneNote needs tags, especially for users wanting to migrate from Evernote : r/OneNote

Pertinent stories, updates, or questions are always welcome here. I want to migrate from Evernote to OneNote. I have been using Evernote since it was released. However, as of 2025 Evernote are increasing prices significantly for users like me on older price plans, which makes migrating to OneNote very attractive. However, I simply cannot migrate to OneNote if it does not support hierarchical tags fully (that I use extensively). I will simply have to pay the higher price with Evernote. Frankly, I'm surprised and disappointed that OneNote is lacking this feature in 2025. When OneNote does support tags fully, I'll be moving over. This frustrated me but then I figured out a simple hack. I put tags in by typing them into the title: #support, #sales, #admin, #[client name]. Then search using conditionals like AND or OR. As an avid OneNote user since 2007, I was hoping hard for this until 2019ish and then just gave up hoping OneNote would ever get more nerd-friendly features. The app has long since been captured by the "normie" user and they intend to keep it as simple as possible. It's still a great app. I still use it for like half my digital stuff, but just have to accept it and work around it. One note (heh) about Evernote to OneNote.
