Is there any reason things shouldn't be smart? I mean, sure, when it's implemented poorly that's one thing. What frustrates me is this weird culture of increasingly young people being mad at tech innovations. The thing is, I'm old. I remember thinking people were super crotchety and anti-tech in their 40s and 50s. This was stuff like VCRs and wireless phones (not smartphones... not even cell phones... wireless home phones). I remember my aunt thinking it was irresponsible of her son to burn a CD on a 1x burner (that would've taken an hour or so) and to go do something else while it burned. She thought he should just sit there and watch it. That makes no sense, but she, like many, just couldn't keep up with tech an thought it was stupid. But over my life time tech has advanced SO much faster than it did for a previous generation. As a result, I've been seeing the age of crotchey move downward.
