Pilot-wave hydrodynamics In 2005, Yves Couder and Emmanuel Fort discovered that droplets walking on a vibrating fluid bath exhibit features previously thought to be peculiar to the quantum realm. Since 2010, this hydrodynamic system has been the focus of my group’s research. Particular attention has been given to identifying new hydrodynamic quantum analogs in the laboratory, and to rationalizing the emergent quantum-like behaviour theoretically.
