The International Building Exhibition 2027 (IBA 27) is a visionary platform for architecture and urban development, presenting innovative ideas for sustainable, vibrant living environments. IBA’27 in the Stuttgart region showcases exemplary projects that embody transformation, openness, and community spirit. Within this framework, project markers are being installed—artistic sculptures that not only mark the locations of IBA’27 projects but also stand as lasting symbols of connection beyond the exhibition year 2027. The IBA Markers are based on two timeless archetypes: steps and gates. These elements speak of change, modularity, and permeability. They guide how we approach, pass through, and experience space—shaping the dialogue between body, environment, and scale. Modular by nature, the markers respond uniquely to their surroundings while remaining integral parts of a cohesive whole. Client: IBA 27 Deconstructing Icons examines ways of upcycling and reusing leftover materials. Based
