I’ve been entering a new domain (spacecraft design) and am again finding myself as the apprentice. Looking like a senior and having the knowledge of a junior is painful. The opportunity to learn things offsets this pain, and this experience has raised a question: what are my seniors getting out of this? I can be a hassle for senior engineers.
