SM is a digital type foundry based in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands, initiated by Open Studio. We design and distribute modern retail- and custom fonts that facilitate clear and distinctive communication.
Information Hauser is a deep dive in the concept of constructed typography, following after the first exploration with Maxeville Construct. Formed by basic geometric shapes; circles, squares and lines are repurposed in multiple characters. Resulting in abstract individual characters that become legible when paired together. Built from repeating shapes on a fixed grid system, Hauser draws inspiration from the avant-garde architecture group Team 10; Structuralist- and later Metabolist architecture.
