Interesting article. I have some notes somewhere regarding my great-great-grandmother who went on a voyage with her husband, Capt. Jonas Winters. So happens that my Great Grandfather Clarence Pullis Winters was also born in Honolulu. She was actually on the voyage with Captain Winters when he was Captain of the Elizabeth Firth that did the salvage thing with his brother's (Philander Winters) ship the Richmond.
