Even before Disney began releasing the breathtaking trailers for The Lion King, film lovers everywhere were buzzing about this summer’s most hotly anticipated film. After his success with The Jungle Book, how would director Jon Favreau bring the beloved characters from another Disney classic back to the screen, in a whole new way, and in a wholly recreated version of Africa that appears to be the real thing? As Favreau told Entertainment Weekly while on set: “How do you update [a classic landmark] without changing the personality of it?
