We all do it, you know? Clinging to people, things, ideas like they’re life rafts in a stormy sea. But sometimes those life rafts are the very things pulling us under. Don’t get me wrong. Caring deeply is beautiful. It’s what makes us human. But there’s a fine line between caring and clinging, and boy, is it easy to cross. Think about the last time you held onto something way past its expiration date. Maybe it was a relationship that had fizzled out years ago, or a dream that no longer fit the person you’ve become. We’ve all been there, haven’t we? Holding on so tight to what was that we can’t see what could be. Life’s funny like that. It’s always moving, shifting, growing. And sometimes, we forget to move with it. We stand still, arms wrapped around our comfort zones, wondering why the world seems to be passing us by. Letting go is not about giving up. It’s about growing up. It’s realizing that sometimes, the bravest thing you can do is open your hands and trust that something better
