I understand why a lot of people want to get into big tech, but wouldn't it just be easier to work a few years at a decent F500 and then pivot into a Big Tech company after you have experience? It is easier to get into FAANG when you have more YoE, yes. If you want to work at FAANG, you might as well try for FAANG as a new grad and if you don’t get it then you can take something else and try again when you get more YoE. You don’t have to skip attempting to get into FAANG as a new grad just because it is easier to get in with more YoE. Yeah, I more so meant that I don't know why so many ppl are FAANG or bust while in university when you can get in later too. I guess everyone can set their own expectations. Some people probably think that if you couldn’t get into FAANG as a new grad but you got in a few years later, that still isn’t good enough.
