Started playing with TickTick today after using Things for 6 months. Open up the gallery to see some of the differences. I like it a lot so far, its got some features I wish things had. More in the comments… : r/thingsapp

I used TickTick for about 9 months before switching to Things a year ago. The calendar view was great and the ability to have rich text and attachments in task notes was awesome too. Plus obviously the ability to use it on any Windows machine. The biggest problem I ran into eventually (and maybe they’ve solved this since June 2020 when I left it) was that TickTick’s syncing would occasionally malfunction. Using it on different devices simultaneously might cause some tasks to get lost. I found myself wondering after a while “weird that it hasn’t reminded me to refill the cat food machine in a while?” and I’d check and see that task had somehow disappeared. It’s sad because it’s a good product otherwise but it seemed like they were more concerned with adding cool features than solidifying basic functions like sync. In the end I’ve found Things and Todoist to have much more robust sync. And to me that was more important cuz I didn’t want to worry about an important task disappearing. Just
