Visiting New York used to leave me dizzy. You know: walking through Washington Square Park on a summer evening, overwhelmed by all that newness. Too many humans, too many dogs and lights and sounds. I would take the Greyhound from Philadelphia to New York on Fridays during college to meet friends or dates. Hotels were too expensive so I was always sleeping on someone else’s sofa and waking up with a neck cramp.
