Six months ago I tweeted I was ready to “whore myself out to Babylon”. By that I meant I was ready to start working and get a job. The tweet was a long-shot: could I get a sweet gig making money online? Turns out I could. A few people reached out and we started working together. Among them, Chris Lakin. I hadn’t done this type of work before, but it served me well. For the first time in a long time I had a clear answer to the question of what it is that I do. “I’m a comms consultant”. If pressed further, “I help people with their short and medium-form communications”. And, if pressed even further, “I help people with Twitter and Substack.” And the answer was true too, which is always a nice bonus.
