AMA - Waterloo Biomedical Engineering Grad : r/OntarioUniversities

I just finished my degree at Waterloo in BME and I'm now working full-time in the field of medical devices. Overall, I'm very happy with my experience and I love where I ended up. If you have any questions about Waterloo, biomedical engineering, medical devices or just my uni experience in general, feel free to comment or send a DM :) What biomedical engineering coop placements did you have? Any recommendations for gaining experience in this field? I worked in medical imaging, telehealth/medical devices, smart wearables and medical robotics. Most of my job involved quality, testing, mech design and R&D. Developing skills outside of class is a great way to get employers’ attentions. I was part of a design team for my undergrad which helped me land interviews, but I know people who did part time research or their own personal projects to build their resume too.
