A community for asking whether programs, products, or services are legitimate. My sister’s fiancé-at-the-time told me about this (probably in the late ‘90s). He told me about a study that interviewed people about their perception of time from childhood to young adulthood to their current age. Remember how as a child an hours drive was an agonizingly long and boring eternity, and how the summers seemed to last forever? But now as an adult months, seasons, years, and sometimes entire decades seem to pass so quickly? My sister’s fiancé said that the study concluded that based upon our perception of time as we grow older that by the time we are twenty years old, our life is half over. I'm a little past 50. Although I don't see how this can be measured quantitatively it certainly feels true. Has anyone heard of this study? Do you think it is BS? I think this has more or less to do with NEW experiences.
