Overview Initiated in 1994, Dwight Hall Urban Fellows is an academic-year program in which Yale University undergraduates work with community organizations that are implementing social changes in New Haven. Placements seek to address and counter local inequities and challenges through neighborhood empowerment, community building, and resource sharing. The program is designed to challenge assumptions, encourage relationship-building, foster a lifelong commitment to civic engagement, and put community-guided solutions into practice.
