Not everyone spends a Sunday finding ways to get rejected but that’s exactly what I did at Rejectionathon. In the process, I learned a ton about myself, my comfort levels, and about the general kindness of strangers. Intriguingly enough, it all started with an experiment posted by Elizabeth Yin (partner at 500 Startups). This part caught my attention: Like everything else, figuring out how to hustle and get over your fear of rejection is a skill that requires practice. This is arguably one of the most important professional skills you can learn in life — you are always selling something: yourself, products, your company, a dream / vision, etc — and yet, we don’t learn or get to practice this in school. So, on Sunday morning, I found myself at 500 Startups’ Mountain View office, along with other like minded people.
