When developing products, it’s important to consider the array of roles on a team beyond those of product designers. For instance, a typical setup for a cross-functional, in-house team (think Spotify, for example) consists of: As you can imagine, fluid collaboration and communication become crucial in order for this entire team—and the product they're building—to succeed. The most common methodology used in these cases is called Agile. In just a few words, an Agile environment moves in cycles (called "sprints") of typically either 1 or 2 weeks. These iterative cycles are like mini-projects that start with a kickoff and finish with a demo of the developed product. In order to be able to work effectively in an Agile environment, however, the UX process needed a serious tweak. And so Lean UX was born.
