i’m starting this letter to you at 1:17pm1, but as I have told everyone else, the morning is a mindset rather than an objective temporal marking. yes, i still haven’t fixed my sleep schedule (oops). the sky is blue today. the sky has been blue in the past two days, with wisps of cirrus and geese trailing their paths across the sun.2 it’s as if boston heard my pleas, and finally cleared up the skies, so as to tell me that haha i am capable of beauty and i just didn’t want to give it to you. what a massive joke. for the first month of the year, i had a few firsts to celebrate: i witnessed my first snow! the act of snowing is beautiful in how uncapturable it is. my joy at seeing snow had a very fast decay curve3, but such is life and i’ll hold onto the joy of that first snow anyway first new year in a new world. in some ways it felt bittersweet, but in many other ways i am very much glad and happier for it. distance makes the heart grow fonder for a reason =D first (pop music) concert! l
