I intend to pursue a Ph.D. in theoretical computer science in order to characterize the high- level structures that underlie networks, games, learning systems, automata, and the mind. My research interests include computational geometry, complexity, and learning theory. My past research has focused on the extraction of semantic features from natural language queries, clustered drawings of graphs, and broadcast domination on the infinite grid. My research skills are supported by broad theoretical foundations: as an undergraduate, I supplemented my computer science major with majors in mathematics and philosophy, in which I focused on combinatorics, geometry, linguistics, cognition and logic. I am motivated to pursue graduate study by my undergraduate experiences in research and software development.
