F lourishing is a wonderful word. I first encountered it during my philosophy classes, while discussing its Greek translation, eudaimonia (εὐδαιμονία). The Greek word can also be loosely translated as happiness or welfare . As Aristotle says : [Ch 9] …Happiness (eudaimonia) comes to one by means of virtue and some sort of learning or training… [Ch 5] virtues are neither feelings nor predispositions…they are active conditions (hexis).
