Its beaches are strewn with garbage as far as the eye can see, while its waters are subjected to a constant stream of untreated sewage. Despite this, the city's shores host a surprising biodiversity of marine life, from sponges, corals and nudibranchs to moray eels and starfish. "Marine Life Of Mumbai', a citizen initiative started by a group of friends (environmentalists, marine researchers and enthusiasts alike) aims to spread awareness about this hidden treasure and create a database of sightings along the coast. With that aim in mind, regular shore walks are organized free of cost during low tides. This album is an ongoing collection of images I have made during these shore walks.
