Back in March 2023 I wrote Banking in Very Uncertain Times at Bits about Money , my newsletter about the intersection of finance and technological infrastructure. Today's episode is the author's commentary on that essay, with the benefit of two years of hindsight, and spelling out some of the things that I couldn't say at the time (and the rationale for why). I wanted the opportunity to do a bit of implicit meta-commentary on journalists, regulators, and randoms who write essays on the Internet
