When you are in your early 20s and restless to bring your dreams to life, many adults end up saying “What is the hurry?” I have much hurry to make my dreams come true to life. You cannot take life for granted, every second matters. You need to say ‘no’ to more options than ‘yes’ and very selectively seek the options you end up choosing to say ‘yes’ to. Quick story: I used to lead a non-profit in Grade 12 and I met this girl named Deepanwita. One of the best humans I have come across — thoughtful, kind and a dreamer. On paper, she was a perfect brown parent’s dream. She was the student board’s student trustee, she was getting high marks in high school and if she tried, I can guarantee she could have gotten into most Canadian and US Universities. Post Grade 12 summer, she was struggling mentally after her best friend committed suicide. I wasn’t particularly close to her but I’d mentor her every once in a while and provide some advice because she also came from a dysfunctional family like
