Start here | ava's guide to a ux design career
I graduated from a small liberal arts college that didn't really have any established design programme (or alumni network). I'm currently a UX designer at PlayStation. I've previously worked with Riot Games and have also received job offers from Blizzard, Respawn, and other AAA studios. A lot of people have reached out to me with questions about getting into design, the games industry, and everything in-between. I've shared the same type of advice to everyone I've had 1:1s with, but I feel like the sheer volume of information can be overwhelming. I really admire how Alexandria Heston set out her guide to The Design of Virtual and Augmented Reality, and I thought it'd be useful to finally put everything I've talked about into words — both to continue sharing, and to collate all of my takes and experiences so far in one place.
