2023–24 Google PhD Fellowship

The Google PhD Fellowship is a prestigious and high-value award for second-year PhD students.  Application details are appended below.  Because the award is for (up to) three years of funding commencing in September 2023, Google prefers (but does not require) that applicants be PhD students who are presently just beginning their second year of study.  However, PhD direct entry students should observe the requirement that to take up the award they must have completed all eight required courses prior to September 2023, which in practice means no later than the Winter 2023 session.​​​​​​​ The application deadline of 9:30 a.m., Monday 8 August is just a few weeks before the expected deadline for NSERC CGS D awards, for which many applicants for this fellowship will also be applying.
