Update 9/11/12: When I wrote this a few days ago, I never imagined the overwhelmingly positive response it would receive. Over 2,700 people have read this blog in just a few days. I’ve received dozens of encouraging messages from acquaintances, phone calls in which friends broke down crying sharing their own struggles, and emails from fellow alumni as well as a message from a student from my high school.
