Curious: is there anyone who likes the unpolished stuff I post on Notes more than the essays on the newsletter? (I mean sort of on average. I get that some are better and some are worse. Also, I’m probably not going to change anything about how I write based on this; I’m just curious how it is to read very polished vs very unpolished thoughts.) Integrity comes from the Latin "integer," meaning whole or complete. A person with integrity is "whole" in the sense that their words, actions, and values are unified rather than fragmented or contradictory. They understand themselves; they have integrated the warring parts of themselves; and they respect and act on the values that their parts can agree upon. That thing were we fail to hear what someone and says, “What?” and then a second later, we hear what it was they said—it is bit of reminder that it takes a little while for our brains to finish processing what we hear, so its worth slowing down a bit before answering.
