I’m not writing this as someone who got rekt, swore off risk, and came back from a vipassana retreat with a newfound realization. I own crypto, stocks and a few alternative assets like real estate and gold. Happily. I’ve been around long enough to know what I believe, and also long enough to know where I was lying to myself. The biggest lie was that better judgment would save me from bad behavior. After spending a decade around this industry, including at Coinbase most recently and on the venture investing side before, the most honest thing I can say after all of it is this: the single greatest edge most people will ever have in any market, whether crypto, stocks, or anything else, is the willingness to do nothing.
