You’ll miss hiking up mountain trails in the middle of the night with no destination in mind, holding hands with someone or many someones, walking into acacia bushes and laughing at your own aimless absurdity. You’ll miss drinking the night away with people you don’t love but can at least pretend to like. You’ll miss never having to think about anyone but yourself. This is a freedom that you’ll never experience again. Even if you’re by yourself, you will never be alone again. You’ll miss sitting by a river or maybe it was a reservoir, passing around a bottle of wine, eating prosciutto, tomato, and mozzarella sandwiches in the gentle moonlight, wondering what you’ll make of your lives; wondering what life will make of you. You’ll miss going from one birthday party to another, then to a warehouse show you’d heard about from a friend of a friend of a friend, accidentally cutting the line and wandering in without tickets and waking up the next day to find yourself in the arms of an adventu
