It is hard to believe that SIEM as a tool is over twenty years old. Much has changed over the past two decades as technology has evolved exponentially; the IT and security landscape is quite different from those days. As a result, the requirements for SIEM have also dramatically changed and expanded, with higher volumes of data being processed at increasing velocity across a disparate set of use cases. Before joining Panther, I saw these changes take place going back a decade as I worked for two major SIEM vendors and an XDR vendor, mainly in the field working directly with customers on their SIEM deployments, training, and troubleshooting.
