Fake Door Testing is about rapidly validating an idea (it can be a product, a service or a feature): we show the users an option that does not actually exist. After the user takes the action (clicks, registers etc.), the system lets the user know that this feature or product/service is not yet available. By measuring how many of the potential users showed interest, we can make better decisions about the next step of the design process (e.g. implementing the idea; iterating based on the feedback and test again etc.).
