PhD in HCI : hci
I have been thinking about this for so long, I REALLY WANT TO DO IT. I’ll spend the next 5 years doing what I do anyways, should I just make it productive and go for PhD? But I’m worried that I’ll go for PhD, successfully, hopefully even get a PhD but I don’t want to be stuck with working the same job / salary. Are there career prospects or is there a positive outlook? Would love to hear from someone who is going through it or has been through. How is/was your journey ? Whats post-doc looking like? I'm currently an MS student and industry professional who might potentially do a PhD one day as well. I'm currently leaning towards no though. I have talked to many advisors and professors about it. Here's the thing, my classes overlap with PhD students a lot. Most of them tell me that the only reason why they did a PhD program over an MS is because it was funded.
