Happiness cannot be found with a 9-to-5, you must quit the 9-to-5 immediately and work for yourself if you want freedom. It’s a lie I believed for a good while. I always thought that I was unhappy because I worked in a big corporation and the 9-to-5 was holding me back. I never thought maybe, just maybe, I was in the wrong job. After 7 years though, I found a job I liked. I found that I didn’t need to quit, that I just needed to work out what work I liked. Here’s some thoughts on the ‘boring’ 9-to-5. Quitting isn’t the hard part, replacing your income is. People talk all the time about the simplicity of quitting. The moment they hand in their resignation, the freedom, the joy but this feeling is fleeting because of one simple fact: When you quit your job, you’re saying goodbye to an income, and it’s money that gives you freedom. For most, it’s not as simple as ‘just quit’. The hard part is figuring out what to quit for, what to replace your income with, and what ‘work’ you’d like to do
