I had templates and a road map. The idea was to re create No Doubt , the Pretenders and Joan Jett. all mooshed into one sound. you give the band a sound, an unmistakable snare and Kick and to make the music electric and distinctive. Using aggressive snares and 6/8 time signatures were part of it all. It was mostly groove that had to connect. Many months of sound scape ideas with synths, Bass sounds and reverbs were important. The drums were treated differently at every juncture. They were hand edited and if you listen closely you will hear the different snares and compression.
