Recently, I hit my 2 year mark working as a Brand Manager at IBM in New York City. In the past 24 months, I’ve gotten to work on the global re-invention of the iconic brand, build up an award-winning podcast with over 12 million listens to date, and help develop TV ads that have run on prime time television. It’s been an incredible journey and hopefully just the start — Here are a collection of lessons I’ve learned (and am still learning) along the way. 1. Your first impression could be your only impression This is not meant in a cryptic way but, in a large corporate environment, there will be people with whom you only interact once or twice. Especially with leadership or those on other teams, I’ve learned not to discount the little interactions that may seem trivial in the moment.
