Over the past year, my personal understanding of all things romance related has been shaken to the core. My ex broke up with me over text, and immediately started dating someone in the same department as me (I'm in grad school). It's been 7 months, and I'm still not over her. We didn't have the kind of fight to end the relationship that brings with it closure, only the occasional bickering. She refuses to address what happened, and prefers us to not contact each other. She eventually made sure to flaunt the new guy in my face, adding to how hurt I feel. I've gone through standard breakup protocol, I've hit the gym, I don't look her or the new guy up on social media, I'm doing great in my grad program, but I still think about her every day and I'm never going to find anyone like her again who's also into me.
