In-home wireless device tracks disease progression in Parkinson’s patients | MIT News | Massachusetts Institute of Technology
MIT researchers can track the severity and progression of Parkinson’s disease, as well as how a patient responds to medication, using an in-home device that passively monitors the patient’s gait speed by bouncing radio signals off their body.
By continuously monitoring a patient’s gait speed, the system can assess the condition’s severity between visits to the doctor’s office.
