It’s my last night at home, and for some reason, I always have trouble sleeping the night before a trip, or the night before leaving home. I feel things that I normally coup up, so it always feels good for me to stay up reading or writing — sometimes both. I was feeling pretty upset after talking with Julian today, so I went for my last resort: unpacking the crate of journals in my room. I like that I keep them at home, and every time I come back, they are here for me if I need them. I think I always feel the same things after reading them: I worried way too much about things that I have since forgotten, like getting a 4.5 (my high school’s equivalent of a B) on a Euro test, getting 21/26 on a math test, or even Sarika not wanting to be friends with me (how absurd!). I was too hard on myself for doing poorly on one small thing, even when the overall trend was positive.
